At Resource X Global (RXG), we believe that success means more than business performance—it also means making a meaningful impact in the communities where our teams live and work. Guided by this belief, we are proud to introduce RXG Cares: our new community impact initiative focused on giving back through local outreach, charitable efforts, and values-driven projects.
Our first official RXG Cares initiative launched on Thursday, March 28, 2025, with an outreach visit to Aeta’s Village in Porac, Pampanga (Villa Maria). With grocery hampers packed by our Pampanga office team, we delivered essential food items to local Aeta families—members of one of the Philippines’ oldest Indigenous communities. This day marked more than the distribution of goods; it was an opportunity to listen, connect, and show our respect for a proud, resilient people.
RXG Cares: Built on Connection and Compassion
The RXG Cares program is shaped by five core principles:
- A Community-Centric Approach
- Regional Customisation
- Employee Engagement
- A focus on Long-Term Impact
- A spirit of Collaboration
This first initiative brought these values to life. From the beginning, we knew this was not about giving from a place of privilege—it was about standing beside the community, listening to their needs, and learning from their lived experience. The day was a celebration of mutual respect, shared humanity, and meaningful action.
A Day of Unity and Generosity
The day began with our team gathering at RXG’s Pampanga office in Angeles City, where the hampers had been thoughtfully prepared by staff in the days prior. Joining the local team were members of our Australian leadership, including CEO Michael Della Torre, General Manager Allen Taylor, and National Marketing Manager Grant Jeffrey.
Together, they travelled to the Aeta community in Villa Maria. Upon arrival, the RXG team was warmly welcomed with opening prayers, the Philippine National Anthem, and a shared sense of celebration. The activities that followed included games with prizes, shared meals, and the distribution of lollies to local children – small gestures that created big smiles. It was an opportunity to come together not just in ceremony, but in genuine community spirit.
Following the formalities and fun, RXG staff distributed the hampers—each filled with long-life food items and essentials tailored to the needs of the community. It was a powerful reminder that even simple gestures, when rooted in care and respect, can carry deep meaning.
Learning from the Aeta People
The Aetas are among the earliest known inhabitants of the Philippine archipelago. Traditionally nomadic hunter-gatherers, they have long lived in harmony with nature and are known for their spiritual connection to the land.
Throughout history, however, the Aeta communities have faced displacement from their ancestral territories. Colonialism, development, and the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo all contributed to the loss of land, resources, and traditional ways of life. Many Aeta families today continue to face economic and social challenges as a result.
And yet, despite these hardships, the Aetas remain a community of remarkable resilience, wisdom, and dignity. Their values—cooperation, simplicity, and respect for the environment—offer timeless lessons that are especially relevant in today’s fast-paced world.
For RXG, this visit wasn’t just about offering support. It was about taking the time to understand a way of life shaped by strength, tradition, and deep cultural roots. It was about recognising that there is so much to learn from communities who live differently, but not less meaningfully.
A Moment That Mattered – for Everyone Involved
The outreach was also a moment of reflection for our own team. For many, especially those who had travelled from Australia, it was a moving and memorable experience.
“It was a privilege to be welcomed into the Aeta community,” said CEO Michael Della Torre. “This wasn’t about handing something over—it was about sharing a moment of connection, learning something about a different culture, and understanding how we, as a company, can play a small part in standing beside those who need support without ever imposing on their values or way of life.”
These sentiments were echoed by the rest of the team, who found the day both grounding and inspiring. Amid busy schedules and business goals, it served as a gentle reminder of the value of taking time—to reflect on what we have, to reach out with empathy, and to act with purpose.
What’s Next for RXG Cares
This is only the beginning for RXG Cares. Future programs will continue to focus on regional needs and community partnerships—whether through educational opportunities, health and wellness support, environmental stewardship, or further outreach efforts.
Each initiative will be guided by the same values that shaped this first visit: humility, collaboration, cultural respect, and long-term impact.
We’re committed to ensuring that RXG Cares is not a one-off program, but a long-term investment in the communities around us. Whether it’s in the Philippines, Australia, or elsewhere, we will continue to look for ways to serve meaningfully—led by local voices, and supported by our global team.
Final Reflections
As the RXG team returned to the Pampanga office that evening, there was a quiet sense of fulfilment. We had not only distributed goods—we had shared conversations, witnessed culture, and experienced the strength of a proud community.
We are deeply grateful to the people of Villa Maria for their warmth, their generosity, and their trust. And we are equally proud of our RXG staff—for stepping forward not just as employees, but as people who care.
At its heart, RXG Cares is about recognising that positive change happens when we walk together—not ahead, and not behind, but side by side.
And this was just the beginning.
